Meals On Wheels: An Update
Meals on Wheels has been up to some exciting things with the help of North Road Communications. Catch up on our latest work!
Newsletter
North Road Communications has helped Meals On Wheels of Greater Hyde Park keep in touch with their community by helping them create a seasonal newsletter. The Fall/Winter Newsletter is getting ready to be sent to volunteers, and seniors who will be receiving meals. The Meals On Wheels newsletter will also be featured in the Everready Diner for people to pick up and read as well. Some highlights in the newsletter are about Emergency Meals, Volunteer Spotlight, Founder’s Month, Marist NRC Spotlight, and the Annual Appeal. This newsletter is an exciting new marketing tool to keep people involved with Meals on Wheels and in the know about the upcoming events and activities sponsored by the Meals On Wheels team.
Radio Appearance
This past week both North Road Communication and Meals on Wheels received some on-air coverage thanks to the Q92.1/WRNQ radio station. Jack talked about the upcoming events for Meals on Wheels, while firm director Victoria Bova gave an overview of how NRC helps clients like Meals on Wheels. Q92.1 is a local radio station here in the Hudson Valley so they can easily connect with people of the area and provide a great source for a local organization to get their message out there. Q92.1 is excited to partner with NRC and our clients again!
Upcoming Events
October: Founder’s Month for Meals on Wheels as the first meal was delivered in October of 1975. 45 years later, Meals on Wheels continues to provide valuable support to its senior neighbors in the greater Hyde Park communities and The Village of Rhinebeck.
November: The Subaru Share the Love event is quickly approaching which will require NRC’s assistance. Meals on Wheels has partnered with Ruge’s Subaru of Rhinebeck here in the Hudson Valley to raise funds. The Subaru Share the Love event is a great way for people to get connected with Meals on Wheels by joining the movement and contributing during the competition.
Over the past eleven years, Subaru and its retailers have helped Meals on Wheels to deliver nearly 2 million meals nationwide to seniors in need. From Nov. 14 through Jan. 2., for every new Subaru vehicle purchased or leased, Subaru will donate $250 to the customer’s choice of participating charities. Through a multi-media mix, North Road Communication assists in the social media department to ensure all competition rules are being followed and all requirements are being met. Last year, the Marist Football team helped participate at the kickoff event at Ruge’s Subaru dealership in Rhinebeck. North Road Communications also helps Meals on Wheels to package the blizzard bags in mid-December, bags of non-perishable food delivered to Meals on Wheels clients for snow days when regularly scheduled meals cannot be delivered.
