Unshattered: Possibilities Take Flight with Southwest Airlines

Account Executive: Kaitlyn Belinsky, Madison Stavola

In early 2022, Unshattered established a list of campaign goals to accomplish through their Southwest Airlines® partnership, including increasing Unshattered’s brand awareness, media coverage, revenue, and product demand. The NRC Team collaborated with Kelly Lyndgaard, CEO and founder of Unshattered. The NRC Unshattered Team developed plans to utilize internal North Road Communications’ (NRC) Teams like the Media Relations and Pitching Team to increase public awareness and achieve feature story placements. The NRC Unshattered Team created a press kit, three press releases, and a video for the new Unshattered location. During this time, the Team visited the new location to have a full understanding of the content they would be writing and promoting. This opportunity grew the relationship between NRC and Unshattered as it demonstrated to Lyndgaard that the team of students was focused on helping her with the transition into the new building. While Lyndgaard focused on moving in, NRC provided communication resources for Unshattered. Several online news outlets, such as Aerotime Hub and Travel + Leisure, published articles about Unshattered’s partnership with Southwest Airlines®. Additionally, Southwest Airlines® released an article highlighting the partnership with Unshattered. For more information on Unshattered, click here.

The audience was meant to feel like they were part of a live taping of the podcast, listening to inspiring stories of recovery from addiction and battles with mental health. Sponsors of the event included Sodexo, who provided personalized refreshments, and NAMI Mid-Hudson who distributed educational materials and offered the audience support at the event. Leading up to the event, the client team from NRC promoted the event through the NAMI Mid-Hudson newsletter and the campus wide “Events At Marist” newsletter, as well as promotional social media posts on various mediums. This earned the team the “Outstanding Project of the Year-2019” award from NRC leadership. For more information on Steppin’ Out Radio, click here.

Meals on Wheels-Hyde Park: Q92 Radio Appearance & Blizzard Bags

Account Executive: Victoria Bova

Every year, our client,  Jack Fenton, appears on Q92 Radio to promote Meals on Wheels Poughkeepsie. Q92 is the IHeart radio station in Poughkeepsie, NY, and hosts a variety of different styles of music and podcasts. Jack goes on the radio each year to promote Meal on Wheels and gives a background on what the organization does. Jack explains how volunteers deliver food to those who cannot leave their house due to a variety of different reasons. He asks for volunteers and shares the Meals of Wheels website so people can access more information. Each winter, Meals on Wheels create blizzard bags for people in need. The goal of the blizzard bags is to supply people with emergency food when Meals on Wheels is unable to deliver due to inclement weather. Examples of the foods included in blizzard bags are crackers, pudding cups, raisins, one-year freeze-dried milk, and other things that have long shelf lives. A week or two before finals week, Jack comes to one of our NRC meetings and our members help to fill each bag with food. Our members help Jack load the blizzard bags into his car for them to be delivered. This event is a great way to help one of our clients and create a stronger relationship with our community.

This semester, they debuted “NRC Coffee Talk,” in which Firm Directors, Allie & Paisley, share weekly updates of the firm with the public. Also, they created a spotlight on our Account Executives with the “20 Questions” series. Our youtube channel is updated weekly, and there will be more fun videos to come!
